Elton John, der 1947 geborene Komponist und Sänger von Erfolgen wie „Candle in the Wind“, „I'm Still Standing“ sowie „Nikita“ und „Circle of Life“, ist der wohl bekannteste Schwule der Welt

Bei diesem Refrain macht es doch bei jedem Popmusik-Fan klick, oder? Diese Zeilen stammen aus Elton Johns 1972er-Klassiker „Rocket Man“, aber auch sein Hit „Sacrifice“ von 1989/90 wurde in seinem neuen Lied, einem Duett mit Dua Lipa eingearbeitet: „Cold Heart“. Und auch ein kleiner Melodieteil vom „Kiss the Bride“ (1983) von Elton.
Herausgekommen ist ein eigenständiges Lied, eine Disco-Nummer wie gemacht für den Spätsommer. Madonna-Fan Dua Lipa beweist einmal mehr ihr Gespür für grandiose Lieder und die richtigen Duettpartner (den Homophobie- und Misogynie-Skandal um DaBaby vergessen wir lieber, da konnte sie ja so gar nichts für).
„Cold Heart“ ist – im Remix von PNAU – eine absolut kickende Klubnummer, die mit sanften Italo-Disco- und High-Energy-Einflüssen und Tröten eine bittersüße Melancholie zaubert, die aber nicht lähmt, sondern entspannen lässt. Richtig guter Pop! Hier ist das Musikvideo der beiden Superstars:
