Romy Haag – ihr Klub Chez Romy Haag hat das Nachtleben der Stadt damals verändert. Die Shows, die sie für ihre Disconächte kreierte, ließen sich weder mit Glamour noch mit Trash beschreiben. Es war ideenreich illustrierte Musik. Als Schauspielerin in vielen Filmen und als Regisseurin von Show- und Varietéprogrammen legt sie einen besonderen Blick auf das Schöne, visuell Ungewöhnliche, aber auch auf inhaltliche Ehrlichkeit. Wir sprachen mit der Musikerin.
IN DEN LETZTEN JAHREN HAST DU DICH MASSIV FÜR MENSCHENRECHTE EINGESETZT, WARST IN VIELEN PROJEKTEN AKTIV UND HAST DEN EUROPEAN TOLERANCE AWARD ERHALTEN. DEIN NEUES PROGRAMM HEISST NUN LOVE REVOLUTION. IST DAS EIN WUNSCH NACH MEHR HARMONIE?
Natürlich. Harmonie, Hoffnung, Liebe, Respekt. Das sind die wichtigsten Sachen im Leben. Der Dalai Lama hat das mal sehr schön formuliert. Ich singe in dem Programm Lieder aus ganz unterschiedlichen Zeiten. Manchmal ist ein Blick zurück nicht schlecht, um dann nach vorne zu schauen. Heutzutage, in dieser ganzen homophoben Zeit, tut es gut, dann auch mal zu zeigen, wie frei und demokratisch diese Welt schon einmal war.
ES SCHEINT PARADOX. OBWOHL ES IN EUROPA UND AMERIKA HEUTE MEHR MENSCHENRECHTE GIBT, HAT MAN OFT DEN EINDRUCK, DASS WIR IN SACHEN FREIHEIT UND TOLERANZ SCHON EINMAL WEITER WAREN.
Oh ja. In den 70ern war das auf jeden Fall so. Der Ludwigkirchplatz war damals voll mit Hippies, die da Sit-ins machten. Da kamen dann Omas vorbei und haben von den Leuten Blumen geschenkt bekommen. Die Omas haben sich dann dazugesetzt. Das Gefühl für Freiheit war in der Zeit sehr stark. Aufbruch, neue Erfindungen, die ersten Videos das war was Tolles. Mit den heutigen Erfindungen sind wir alle total unter Kontrolle. Von wem auch immer.
KOMMEN BEI EINEM NEUEN PROGRAMM DEINE INSPIRATIONEN EHER VON DEM, WAS DU ERLEBST, ODER DOCH MEHR AUS DER MUSIK?
Meine Inspiration ist der Zeitgeist, manchmal die Nachrichten. Ich schreibe ja auch eigene Lieder. Dabei habe ich immer einen Blick auf mein Umfeld und auf meine Freunde. Ich brauche meine Zeit für Beobachtung. So kommen dann Texte zustande.
OB IN DEINEM KLUB, IN DEINER TV-SHOW IN DEN 90ERN ODER AUCH BEI DEINEN REGIEARBEITEN IM WINTERGARTEN: DU HAST VIELE BÜHNENTALENTE GEFÖRDERT, DIE VON DIR IHRE ERSTEN CHANCEN ERHALTEN HABEN. WO MUSS MAN HEUTE HINGEHEN, WENN MAN NEUE TALENTE ENTDECKEN MÖCHTE?
Oh, es gibt tolle Leute. Neue Bands haben es heute schwer, dabei sind so viele neue Talente da draußen. Manchmal gehe ich zu Konzerten, wo nur zwanzig Leute sind. Diese Ranking-Shows im Fernsehen verderben vieles. Aber ich sehe viele gute Künstler, übrigens in ganz unterschiedlichen Bereichen. Zum Beispiel kenne ich großartige transsexuelle Comedians, die oft viel besser sind als vieles, was wir in den TV-Shows gezeigt bekommen.
DU BIST KOSMOPOLITIN UND SPRICHST FÜNF SPRACHEN. IN WELCHER SPRACHE TRÄUMST DU NACHTS?
Das kommt auf meine Stimmung an. Manchmal habe ich Phasen, wo ich ganz schlecht Deutsch oder Französisch spreche, und dann wieder ganz fließend. Das macht sich dann auch in den Träumen bemerkbar. Ich träume und denke in verschiedenen Sprachen.
